If I participate in a Mustang would my run be a "fun run" or are there any other catagories for non-Porsche owners?

Thanks

Mustangs are more then welcome, I have 3 already entered, and are classified in X class with all other non-Porsche vehicles. You should come out and join us! On a side note for Mustang owners, MossMuscle will be there driving 3 different Mustangs! They are the new arm of Moss Motors that are targeting the Mustang crowd. They have made several modifications to each one, a 00, 05 & 10 and are there to test and report how they perform.
See you on the 28th and get those entries in!!!!

I guess I will post this question versus try to email you. I notice the event requires a 6:30am tech with no racing till after 2pm. Is there a reason why it takes so long before timed runs? I autocross in Marina CA with NorCal and everything moves pretty quickly. They just tech on the grid say at 10am and I am basically done with my runs by noon. Just wondering if I am missing something?

Thanks

MDubs,

We run our A/X in a more traditional fashion. So 6:30 tech opens and we get everyone teched by the time the drivers meeting at 8am starts. We will have 4 run groups with about 12 - 15 cars in each group. We can usually get 3 sessions in of 3-5 laps on the course during the morning sessions, sometimes 4. We break for lunch and then do one more practice session followed by the timed session at the end. All sessions are timed and posted but only the last one is counted for those going for points and are the final results of the event. We are a small group of volunteers who also like to run the course so every driver is asked to help out with course safety work during the day and with the course clean up at the end. We are out of there by 4:30 or so. It does make for a long but extremely fun day.

If you have any more questions please feel free to keep them coming. We are always looking for ways to better our events and make the day smoother for everyone. I believe we do a pretty good job now but we can always improve.

I hope you will come out and join us.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like a driver gets a lot more laps at your event than in my club. NorCal UFO. We only get 4 laps with no practice laps. So as you can imagine your 4th lap is your quickest. We tech on the grid right before the timed laps and when your class is over you just need to work the course during another run and your day is done. I was able to leave the event by noon.

In any case I will keep you guys in mind and look at future events. I appreciate all the info and hope the event is a success.

Good luck and safe driving

Marc

At the PCA events (that I've been to, SB and Camarillo) I've gotten 12+ runs each time. Definitely not the typical SCCA type day.

I much prefer this format. More runs = more fun!
